Requirements and Expectations

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead worship during Sunday services and host pre-service team meetings
  • Oversee the development and spiritual growth of the worship team, both musically and relationally
  • Proactively plan worship services at least 4 weeks in advance
  • Schedule worship team members and ensure teams are adequately staffed each weekend
  • Build a deep volunteer bench and identify/develop future worship leaders
  • Plan and execute worship for special events (baptisms, communion, child dedications, holiday services)
  • Oversee online worship production in partnership with media and tech teams
  • Attend and participate in weekly staff meetings
  • Encourage and support team volunteers regularly
  • Develop healthy systems for preparation, rehearsal, and service execution
  • Ensure seamless integration between worship, tech, and production components
  • Equip volunteers to handle stage setup, slides, lighting, tracks, and audio mixing
  • Contribute to Grace River's broader mission through collaboration and vision alignment

Required Technical Skills

  • Worship leading and vocal/instrument performance
  • ProPresenter (slides and cues)
  • Vista lighting console (or similar systems)
  • Playback/Multitracks, MIDI programming and integration
  • Digital audio consoles (Avantis or equivalent), sound check, routing, and in-ear monitor management

job requirements

  • 3+ years of full-time ministry and worship leading experience
  • Strong history of building, developing, and coaching volunteer teams
  • Entrepreneurial and proactive in planning and problem-solving
  • Bachelor's degree preferred in a ministry, music, or leadership-related field
  • Alignment with Grace River's culture and mission
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Willingness to continually grow through professional and spiritual development
