A 5 Day Devotional | 2 Corinthians 1:3-10

God doesn't always remove the pressure, but He uses it to teach us where our strength really comes from.

Main Scripture:

"Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you." -1 Peter 5:7

Supporting Passages:

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God." -Philipians 4:6

"Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid." -John 14:27

"When I said, 'My foot is slipping,' your unfailing love, Lord, supported me."          -Psalm 94:18

The Weight You Were Never Meant to Carry

Imagine hiking miles with a laptop you did not need, weight that slowed every step, drained every reserve, and made the journey harder than it had to be. That is what worry, fear, and the need for control do to us. They feel like they belong in the backpack. But just because you can carry something does not mean you were meant to.

God's invitation is not just to endure the hike. It is to set down what was never yours to carry in the first place. Surrender is not weakness. It is wisdom.

Questions to Consider:

1. What extra weight have you been carrying that was never yours to hold?

2. What would you do differently this week if you were not carrying that weight?

3. What makes it hard for you to let go?

Prayer:

"Lord, I have been carrying [name it] and I am exhausted. I give this to You, not because I feel ready, but because You asked me to."
