Life Hacks
A 5-Day Devotional | 2 Corinthians 1:3-10
God doesn't always remove the pressure, but He uses it to teach us where our strength really comes from.
MAIN SCRIPTURE:
"This happened that we might not rely on ourselves but on God, who raises the dead." -2 Corinthians 1:9
SUPPORTING PASSAGES:
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight." -Proverbs 3:5-6
"Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion, which cannot be shaken but endures forever." -Psalm 125:1
"You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you." -Isaiah 26:3
What Pressure Reveals
Pressure does not create what is in us, it exposes it. When life gets hard, what rises to the surface is a picture of what we have actually been trusting in. For many of us, it is control. When things feel manageable, we feel okay. When they do not, anxiety rushes in.
God uses hard seasons not to punish us, but to show us where we have been quietly building on sand and to invite us onto something more solid. The question pressure asks is simple: what are you actually standing on?
QUESTIONS TO CONSIDER:
- What area of your life right now feels most out of control?
- If your peace depends on your circumstances staying stable, how fragile is your peace?
- What would it look like to trust God in the specific thing you are trying to manage?
PRAYER:
"God, I see how tightly I have been holding [name it]. I do not want a peace that depends on my control. Teach me to trust You instead."
